Yes, you can make money from your photos. Thanks to the Internet, it’s now easier than ever toreach buyers with your photography. You can sell your pictures and thereby become a published, professional (or at least “semi-pro”) photographer. There are thousand of folks doing just that. The thing you have to consider is “What is going to make my photos stand out?” It will take some time and effort, but some methods are quicker then others.

The quickest, highest paying but most difficult way to sell your photos are by direct marketing… selling straight to the publishers of Web sites , postcards, notecards, books, advertising, and magazines. Of those, magazines should be where you start. To begin selling to magazines, hit your grocery store and pick up 3-5 magazines that you enjoy the look of. Then, sit down and really study the photos that they include with their articles. After you’ve found a magazine that fits your style, Sent in a few sample COPIES of your work along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to the photo editor. Never send the same photographs to different publishers until you’ve heard back from the first. If you send the same photos to separate magazines, and they both want to use them, you’ve just opened a can of worms before you even got started. It might be tempting to send your best work to several magazines, but now comes the hard part – you must wait.

Another method of making money from your photography is through PHOTO STOCK SITES. The 3 big ones are - Getty, Corbis and Jupiter. Even though you won’t make as much money per sale of your photos, people know and trust these sites so you stand to sell more of your work.
